JUMP START PROGRAM
The Jump Start Program is a hands-on training program for members of Akron Sail and Power Squadron. It provides a framework for teaching a one-on-one training session with a student on their own boat.
The content of the training is customized to fit the needs of the individual student. The goal is to help the new boat owner develop essential skills for safe operation of their boat, and to breakthrough any barriers that may limit their boating enjoyment.
The Jump Start session typically lasts two hours on-the-water
Jump start requirements
- Student must have completed ABC or similar course
- Student must have some boating experience
- Student must have proof of insurance
- Student must be member of USPS
- Vessel must pass Vessel Safety Check
