The host district, District 16, did an outstanding job organizing the cruise. Prior to the trip, they had an extensive web site, with everything you might want to know about the area. They put together a 70-page Skipper's Manual, so you could take that information on the cruise.
They worked with US and Canadian Customs and Immigration, to make our border crossings as easy as possible.
Their planning committee also arranged for two great dinners, and took care of their vegetarian participants !
Each morning there would be a Skipper's Meeting, to discuss the day's plans. In addition, a daily newsletter was published with information to help you in the next port.
Left: Morning skipper's meeting in Victoria.
Next stop, Roche Harbor, where we clear US Customs and Immigration
There was a docking committee left early each morning, so that they would be in port when the rest of the boats started to arrive. After calling them on your VHF, they would send an inflatable out to guide you into port. As the skipper of a boat with a 23' beam, I appreciated their planning and docking assistance!
