Dick's Marina, located on the southern side of Pelee Island, is one of my favorite secrets on Pelee. Most sailboats can't stay here because the marina is only 3-5 feet deep. Since my trimaran draws only a litle more than a foot, I can dock here easily. This end of the island is also about 10 miles closer to Sandusky, so I can get here quicker.
It's not as crowded as Scudders, and its a little more primative, although it has fine restroom facilities. There's a campground right next door. Dick's phone is 724-2024.
This is near one of my favorite restaurants on the island, The Tin Goose. It's part of Gooseberries B&B, and you'd better call for reservations, 724-2072. Unless you brought bikes, you probably want to call the restaurant or a cab to arrange transportation.
Update 2010 -
Dick's Marina has been closed. The marina and rickety docks are still there. In August 2010, there were a few small local boats tied up there.
Gooseberry's restaurant has closed, although there is still a B&B there, which may serve dinner.
There are restaurants near Scudder's and by West Dock.
